So after a planned trip to New Orleans fell through, we were stuck with a week of leisure time. A bunch of our friends were going camping, but we hadn’t anticipated preparing Isobela for the great outdoors, so that was a no go. Temperatures were forecast to top 100, so the obvious choice? Head North

Our first trip to the San Juan Islands
I actually saw this film a while ago, but was reminded of it recently. A beautiful and moving performance, it’s the story of a father, his son gone to war, and all the lives where they interconnect. War is one of those things people get real passionate about, either in favor of or against. This movie, I feel doesn’t try to preach or take sides. It tells the story, subtly, and as unbiased as it can.
